Why You Shouldn’t Delay Dental Care
Did we recommend a preventative or restorative dental treatment the last time you visited our office, but you have not scheduled your appointment? We know that this time of year is exceptionally busy for all, with the holiday season upon us, along with work, school, and family commitments. No matter how busy you may be, prioritizing your oral health is important. Delaying dental treatments can lead to extreme discomfort, the need for additional procedures, and unexpected out of pocket expenses, not to mention you are increasing your chance of a dental emergency.
Avoid an Emergency
When we recommend a treatment, it is for the benefit of both your oral and overall health. Unlike other medical issues, dental decay does not improve with time. On the contrary, dental decay will continue to worsen until the tooth needs to be extracted. Receiving dental treatments and cleanings in a timely fashion help eliminate the potential of experiencing an emergency such as discomfort, a chipped or broken tooth, or a loose tooth.
Don’t Let Nerves Get in the Way
We know that we have patients who have nervous feelings or experience dental fear when it is time to come to our office for a cleaning or needed treatment. We want you to feel comfortable discussing your feelings with us. We will do everything we can to help make you feel comfortable and feel informed about what to expect during treatment. We offer a number of amenities to bring you comfort, such as a blanket and pillow. For patients with extreme nerves, we can recommend a sedation option.
Don’t Delay – Schedule Your Appointment Today
In addition to the treatment we recommended, if it has been longer than six months since your last hygiene examination and cleaning, now is the perfect time to schedule an appointment. If you have dental insurance, it needs to be used before the end of the calendar year or it will expire. Unfortunately, dental insurance does not carry over and instead restarts at the beginning of January.
If you are located in the St. Marys, GA area and are ready to schedule an appointment, our caring and compassionate team would love to help you. We look forward to seeing you sooner rather than later!
