The Clear Alternative To Braces
The start of a new year is the perfect time to evaluate your oral health and make changes that will improve your quality of life and make you happier. If you have been unhappy and self-conscious about the placement of your teeth but don’t want to deal with the hassle of traditional metal braces, we have a great option for you. At Parker and Pennington Dentistry, we are proud to offer Invisalign®, a modern approach to straightening teeth and correcting bite issues. Invisalign uses clear, plastic aligner trays to slowly transition teeth into the desired position.
Benefits of Invisalign®
Patients love that Invisalign does not have any of the pesky metal wires and brackets that traditional metal braces have. Patients can easily see the changes being made to their smiles, and they love the numerous benefits this treatment has to offer, such as:
- Nearly invisible — others may not even notice the trays
- Removable — brush and floss as normal
- No food restrictions — enjoy all your favorite treats
- More Freedom — remove trays for special occasions and photos
- Comfortable — trays don’t irritate the way metal brackets do
- More Convenience — fewer and less frequent dental visits
What is the Invisalign® Process?
Are you ready to jump into treatment, but are unsure what the process entails? The first step involves taking digital X-rays, external photos and impressions of your teeth. This information is converted into a 3D image that is used to create a precise treatment plan. Patients are able to view each step in the plan and know the approximate length of treatment before starting the process.
When you decide to start treatment, you will get a series of clear aligner trays and directions for treatment, including when to change out the trays. For best results, trays should be worn for approximately 20-22 hours per day. It is important to keep the trays safe when they are removed for eating and cleaning your teeth.
