Tooth Replacement With Dental Implants

Because Dr. Pennington is capable of providing both the implant surgery and restorations in the same office, he is able to visualize the tooth in place and plan the entire process with the end result clearly in mind.

Premium Quality Implant Posts

Dr. Pennington uses premium quality Astra and Camlog dental implant posts that are composed of biocompatible materials to integrate easily within your jawbone. These posts help provide stimulation to promote healing of the bone, as well as offering optimum load distribution. Both posts have comprehensive scientific documentation that attests to their excellent rate of success.

Custom Abutments

Abutments are used to connect restorations to the implant post. Dr. Pennington doesn’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. He uses abutments that are customized to fit your tooth socket snugly for improved aesthetics and tissue adaptation.

Custom Restorations

Dr. Pennington and Dr. Parker are both very experienced with creating custom restorations, and they carefully select the best size, shade and shape of a restoration to maintain the character of your smile.

Depending upon the case, we either fabricate the restoration in our in-house lab or partner with the world-class VIVIDX lab. All of the technicians we work with are talented artisans who will custom make your restorations so that they fit beautifully, look lifelike, and function like a natural tooth.

Our Minimally Invasive Dental Implant Procedure

Dental implants are a modern miracle. They look, act, and feel like natural teeth and can easily last a lifetime when the procedure is properly provided and good oral maintenance is practiced. Precision planning, CT scans, and surgical guides provide Dr. Pennington with the tools to place dental implants in a minimally invasive manner that allows for less discomfort and shorter healing times.

3D Cone Beam CT Scanner

With our cone beam CT scanner, we can capture highly accurate, high-definition three-dimensional images to use in planning for your implant.

The Cone Beam CT scanner produces highly accurate, high definition three-dimensional images that provide invaluable information when planning dental implantation procedures. Dr. Pennington is able to analyze the position of sinuses, tooth roots and the jawbone with greater accuracy than with traditional film X-rays or other scans.

Precise Pre-Planning

Our doctors plan thoroughly in advance of your implant procedure to ensure excellent results.

Your dental implant treatment starts well before the day of your implant surgery. In fact, we do most of the work ahead of time.

Our doctors begin the procedure with a comprehensive oral examination and review of your current oral and overall health.

Photography is an invaluable tool for creating lifelike restorations. Digital external and intraoral photography provides us with information for planning your implant procedure. We also ask that you bring in photos of you at an earlier time in your life if there are a significant number of missing teeth.

Bone Grafting and Extractions

Using 3D software, Dr. Pennington can then assess if you will need bone grafting to provide enough bone to place an implant and he can plan the exact position and angle at which to place the implant.

Should you require extractions, these can be done during the dental implant procedure. Dr. Pennington uses plasma rich in growth factors to aid with the preservation of your tooth socket and accelerate healing.

Guided Surgery

Dr. Pennington uses surgical guides for precise placement of dental implants without the need for exploratory surgery.

The images from the computer software are sent to a skilled technician who fabricates a surgical guide that Dr. Pennington uses during the implant procedure. Surgical guides provide extremely precise placement of your dental implant posts, eliminating the need for exploratory surgery. The required incisions are much smaller and healing time is reduced.

Keeping You Comfortable

Your comfort is extremely important to the entire team at Parker & Pennington Dentistry. The area being worked on will, of course, be completely numbed so you don’t feel any pain, and we offer oral and IV sedation, if needed, to help make the procedure more comfortable for long procedures or for anxious patients.
