Dental Services for the Children in Your Family
You can start bringing your children in at around age two to three. Drs. Parker and Pennington have children of their own, and they’re both great with kids, as is our entire team. We like to have a parent or older sibling bring the little ones in for a “Happy Visit” so they get used to the sights, sounds, and smells of a dental office.
If children are up to it during the first visit, we sit them in the dental chair, shine the light, and play with gloves, masks, and a water syringe. We understand how important it is for your child to have a good experience, and we build up trust one visit at a time.
Preventative Dental Care
Studies show that children who are taught to care for teeth at an early age are much more likely to have better oral health over their lifetime than children who aren’t taught proper dental care. Our hygienists love teaching kids how to brush and floss. They take time to explain any procedure and make sure your child is kept comfortable at all times.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants are a plastic material applied to your child’s teeth to help deter cavities by creating a barrier that covers the crevices of the teeth. They are generally applied to teeth that are used for chewing (premolars and molars), where it can be difficult to reach with a toothbrush, allowing decay to occur.
No-Drill Fillings
For small cavities, we can use air abrasion rather than a dental drill. This means no anesthesia and a more comfortable visit for your child.
Baby Root Canal Treatment
A child’s primary teeth have larger pulp spaces than adult teeth and decay doesn’t need to be extensive before it reaches the root canal containing pulp and nerve. When young patients have decay that reaches the pulp, we perform a pulpotomy, where the infected tissue is removed and a medicated filling is placed inside the pulp chamber to help save the tooth.
Meet Our Doctors
Our doctors provide experienced, comprehensive care with kindness and compassion.
Sid Parker, DMD
Dr. Parker gets rave reviews from his patients and his peers. He is known for his kind and gentle touch, friendly, easy-going manner, and his genuine concern for his patients’ well-being. Many patients warmly address him as “Dr. Sid”, and others have called him their hero. He is often referred to as a “perfectionist” by patients and peers alike.
Jeff Pennington, DMD
While attending high school, Dr. Pennington worked at Radenco Dental Lab in Millen, Georgia. He continued to work at dental labs while pursuing his Bachelor of Science at Georgia Southern University, which reinforced his appreciation of the skilled craftsmanship that is required to create lifelike dental restorations.
Teeth Straightening for Teens
Teen years are often filled with photographic memories, and we understand how important it is for teens to be able to smile confidently. We offer Invisalign Teen®, an alternative to traditional metal braces proven to be equally effective.
The virtually invisible, smooth plastic trays can be removed when playing sports or a musical instrument and when taking photos of an important event such as prom or graduation.
Rejuvenate Your Smile
As we age, we can experience wear and tear on our teeth, as well as yellowing or staining. Our doctors offer cosmetic procedures such as veneers and teeth whitening to help you keep your smile sparkling and beautiful. Invisalign® clear aligners can straighten teeth as effectively as traditional metal braces, without the unsightly hardware.
Full Mouth Restorations
If teeth and gums have reached a more advanced stage of disrepair, Dr. Parker, Dr. Pennington, and Dr. Greer all have extensive experience in restoring your mouth to full form and function.
