What is a Porcelain Veneer?

Porcelain veneers are very thin sheaths that adhere to the surface of your teeth to cover imperfections. They look quite natural and are an easy, painless way to refresh your smile. The average lifespan of porcelain veneers is about 10 years, and with proper care, they can last even longer.

Friendly & Experienced Doctors

Drs. Parker, Pennington, and Greer have placed thousands of veneers for their patients during the course of their practice. Their friendly, easy-going manner will quickly put you at ease. Your doctor will listen carefully to your needs, answer your questions and discuss your smile goals with you.

Our Approach to Revitalizing Your Smile

Consultation and Communication

Our doctors begin the process of revitalizing your smile by discussing your expectations and goals. They believe that open communication between doctor and patient is vital to achieving a successful outcome.

Smile Design

We will take photos of your smile for digital imaging and study and take measurements of your teeth to determine the best width and length for your individual smile. We will also take impressions of your teeth to create a study model that helps us analyze your smile, even when you aren’t physically present.

When designing a smile makeover that includes several veneers, your doctor creates a visual aid called a “study model”. By adding wax to the study model, the doctor can sculpt the look of your veneers so that both of you can preview the proposed results.

A wax-up can be easily manipulated to make any desired changes. Our doctors are perfectionists who will make adjustments until you are fully satisfied. Next, you and your doctor will review choices for the shape and shade of your new smile.

Veneer Preparation

At your next appointment we will prep your tooth or teeth. Although we use very thin (0.3 millimeters) porcelain veneers, there is minimal preparation required to prepare your teeth. To accept the additional bulk of the veneers, your teeth will need to be shaved down a bit. This is generally painless, but we do offer the option of a local anesthetic, as your comfort during any procedure is our top priority.

You will receive temporary veneers while our world-class lab fabricates your final restorations. Temporary restorations allow us to test your bite and your smile, ensuring a proper fit. We take digital photos of you with temporaries so that, together, we can evaluate your smile. We also send the photos to our lab to collaborate on creating the best possible look for your face.

Final Veneers

We have a close relationship with the world-class VIVIDX lab, working with the same technicians each time. They are truly artists, and we have direct communication with them during the fabrication.
