Welcome to Our Family – What to Expect During Your First Visit
At Parker and Pennington Dentistry, we love welcoming new patients to our dental family. Our main focus is to determine how our dentistry can improve your quality of life and help give you the smile you deserve. We strategize using science and technology to help you achieve the best possible outcome with the least possible work. We believe in taking good care of our patients, accommodating their needs, and treating them like family.
Upon Arrival at the Office
When you arrive at our office for the first time, you might notice that we take you in immediately for your appointment with no waiting. We know and respect how precious your time is. One of our team members will greet you with a friendly smile, give you a tour of the office, and lead you to one of our examination rooms. You will be introduced to one of three doctors from the practice, Dr. Parker, Dr. Pennington, or Dr. Greer, along with their assistant.
Comprehensive Oral Examination
Before any formal evaluation of your oral health we will review your medical and dental history. Be sure to share any medications or conditions you may have, as such things are important in determining the course of treatment. We would also love to hear about any concerns you have about your oral health, any prior experiences you have had that could have affected how you feel about the dentist, and any changes you would like to see in your smile.
During the exam, we will inspect for signs of temporomandibular joint disorder, check your teeth’s alignment and bite, and look for signs of gum disease and oral cancer. During the structural part of the exam, we check every tooth for signs of decay and wear.
Personalized Treatment Plan
Following the exam, we will present any of our findings to you. We will offer any recommendations for treatment, including restorative and cosmetic options. Using digital X-rays and photos of your teeth, we can further explain the need for any treatments.
