A Video Of Our Advanced Training
We believe in using the best possible equipment for your dental health. The dental world is constantly evolving, with the additions of new technology that will improve not only your comfort, but also the quality of service you receive. We are continuously upgrading our technology and staff training to ensure that we are always improving to stay up-to-date with current trends. We recently received advanced training on the iTero Scanner. Read on to learn about how this technology can benefit you during your next appointment and watch a short video that demonstrates the iTero Scanner in use.
What is an iTero Scanner?
The iTero Scanner is an advanced digital impression machine with a small wand attached that is used in the mouth to take images of your teeth and mouth. With the use of the small wand, we are able to accurately scan each tooth and create a 3D rendering on a computer screen. We are able to move and change the image to see the teeth from all angles. The iTero Scanner can be used when planning various restorations, such as crowns and bridges. The days of using manual impressions for each procedure are long gone.
Benefits of the iTero Scanner
The most beneficial component of this technology is our ability to share the images with the patient. We can immediately pull the images on the computer screen and show you exactly where you have damage to your teeth or gums, what the treatment plan is, and where we are placing certain restorations, like crowns. There are numerous additional benefits of the iTero Scanner technology:
- No goopy putty to bite into to take impressions
- Small wand used to take images, which is beneficial to patients with a heightened gag reflex
- Digital images can be shared with patients
- Scanning process is fast and only takes a few short minutes
- Accurate, detailed, color 3D images eliminate the need for retakes
