Three Common Questions And Answers About Dentures
At Parker & Pennington Dentistry, we are a leader in custom dentures. Our practice has a unique approach to treating patients with dentures. We use advanced techniques to create custom dentures that look beautiful, don’t slip, and allow patients to eat and speak naturally. We know that transitioning to dentures is a big step for a patient. We often receive many questions about the types of dentures and the process that patients have to go through to complete treatment. We want to answer some of the most common questions we receive.
How do you determine what the dentures will look like?
Our goal is to provide patients with dentures that have the most natural appearance. We do this by analyzing your facial features and taking measurements of your mouth to determine how the teeth should look as well as how they will be placed in the mouth. We take a number of things into consideration, including the size, shape, and length of your teeth. We also determine how the teeth should sit in the mouth and the number of teeth that will show when you smile. We also use photo evidence of your natural teeth to help create and design the finished product.
Are dentures removable?
Once we determine your needs are in terms of dentures, we will decide if your dentures should be removable or stabilized. Some patients will be candidates for implant-supported dentures, where we use strategically placed implants to hold the dentures permanently in place.
What if the dentures aren’t a good fit?
We allow patients to test drive their dentures. When we receive a set of dentures for a patient, we have a trial period where they wear the hardware while we check on the fit as well as how they look. We make adjustments as needed before the final dentures are created in the lab.
We know that transitioning to dentures is an extremely important step, so we are happy to offer a consultation to patients to answer all of their questions and go over all their options. If you are interested in scheduling a consultation or an appointment, we encourage you to contact our office, which is located in St. Marys, GA, to speak with our team.
