Learn More About Dental Insurance And The Effect On Your Care
At Parker and Pennington Dentistry, we care greatly about our patients as well as the state of their oral health. Nothing upsets us more than when we learn that patients are not receiving oral care due to dental insurance costs or are not receiving quality care due to the limitations and restrictions set forth by the insurance company. Unfortunately, dental insurance companies don’t always have the patient’s best interest in mind and instead will cover treatments that follow a specific guideline, saving them money. These guidelines many times don’t follow a plan that is what is best needed to restore your oral health. This is the reason we categorize ourselves as a non-restricted provider. Dr. Parker and Dr. Pennington recently sat down to discuss what this means and how it can be beneficial to your dental health. Click above to watch the video.
What is a Non-Restricted Provider?
We don’t want patients to become nervous when they learn we consider ourselves a non-restricted provider. This term simply means that although we accept dental insurance, we are not going to allow your dental insurance plan to determine the treatment and level of care you need to restore your oral health. We believe our dentists and patients should work together and choose which form of care is best for their oral health needs.
We want to emphasize that we always take your dental insurance benefits seriously and aim to help you get the maximum reimbursement. This is why we mention in the video that we will do everything we can, such as submit narratives, pictures, and even speak with agents over the phone to get you the coverage you need. Patients ultimately determine the level of care they are comfortable with and we will always work with our patients to give the best quality dental care we can provide.
If you are located in the St. Marys GA area and have any further questions about our feelings on being a non-restricted provider and how that will affect your care or you are ready to schedule an appointment to learn what treatments we recommend, we would love to hear from you to schedule an appointment. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
